THE FIELD NOTE
Manyara compresses an extraordinary range of habitat into a afternoon's drive: groundwater forest, a soda lake that turns pink with flamingos, and open flats where its famously arboreal lions drape themselves across acacia limbs. We use it as the highland road's opening chapter or a leg-stretcher between longer parks — and because it is small, one good afternoon is genuinely enough.
